After being a card carrier for more than 35 years I found myself in financial straits and contacted American Express to try to work out a payment plan.

After numerous calls I finally got through their blasted phone tree to somebody who said he could help - we reached an agreement, I made a payment and thought things were good - only to be turned over to collection the very next day.

THEN after reaching an agreement with the collection company, the collectin agency started calling me daily to "confirm" even though I'd already paid over 1/3rd of the bill in a lump sum.

I am complying with the agreement - even have automatic withdrawal to pay everything off ASAP - and the contacts are simply harrassment. All when I had an agreement with American Express in the first place.

I am offended and won't restore my card even when allowed. So much for "valued customer." 1286913
