I recently started receiving messages on my home answering machine about an urgent call from AMEX. Gave me a # to call back.
I realized that the phone # does not match one back of my creditcard. I called in and they told me it's fraud. The thing that bothered me is that the operator did not report this. I e-mailed AMEX and was very surprised at the response.
They told me that they can not do anything about it because they are a different department and gave me a phone # to call.
They could of simply forward this info which would save themself from other victoms.
