I was marketed a new AMEX card to replace the COSTCO Platinum card after being with AMEX for 19 years. I had over $20,000 line of credit but with the new card I was given $4,000.
When I asked to extend that line to what I had before I was told I have to send a copy of my tax return as verification of my salary. What??? They can see I have the $20,000 on the existing card but their "system" can transfer the line to the new card. I will NOT send my tax return but I will send my cut-up AMEX card to them.
I was on the phone with Customer Service for almost an hour.
I used to LOVE AMEX... not any more.
