I called American Express on 11/20/2019 and asked to add my Son as an Authorized User. I then received an Alert from Experian who I have a Membership through stating that American Express has placed 2 hard Inquiries on my Credit file.

I called American Express and was told that because I have a Fraud alert on my Credit and wanted to add my Son they had to pull my credit??? This is against the FCRA under permissible purpose for pulling someone credit and is the most ridiculous excuse Ive heard in my life.

I signed nothing. I checked nothing I did not give my permission to pull my credit to add an Authorized user Im considering Class action as there are many more Customers out there Im now seeing that the same thing has happened to them.

First off I do not work for AMEX. I have however reviewed all agreements they provide when I received my card.

Here are the problems you face. 1. You agreed to allow them to pull your credit for any change to your card. 2.

You also agreed that they could change the agreement at anytime. The only time you can opp out of changes is if a fee or interest goes up.

In that case thye account is closed and you have to make payments to pay the balance off. They did not violate FCRA as you agreed to let them pull credit when you signed up for the card, or they changed the agreement.

Please you have to stop defending your actions, that although may be in your "agreement" does nothing for your customers but anger them and drive them away from your products. I was a victim of your "legal" practices and it will take me the next 5 years to recover, I'm told.

For someone who is 58 with a heart condition, that doesn't give me much hope of ever enjoying the financial freedoms I once did. Stop making excuses and start examining your practices.
