I was so embarrassed and made ashamed the day I pulled out the American Express Gift Card that my elderly Mother purchased for me for my 52nd birthday, she gave me this card. My mother purchased the card in the beginning of the year for me.
Because its not visible and the card is wrapped in the packaging really well, t only shows $1.50 purchase price.
$20-$500 initial load. This is all in the front of the package, nothing saying that there is a monthly fee at all Serve cash Back Reloadable prepaid card.it shows nothing on the front or the back of the card

Dear American Express Customer Service, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to explain a situation that led to my American Express card being blocked due to an unpaid balance of $80.
Unfortunately, at the time when the payment was due, my phone was broken. As a result, I was unable to receive any calls or notifications about the outstanding balance. This situation made it impossible for me to address the payment issue promptly. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay.
Now that I am aware of the outstanding balance, I am ready and willing to pay the amount in full as soon as possible. I kindly request you to consider my situation and unblock my card.
I have always valued my relationship with American Express and am committed to maintaining a good standing with your company. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in this matter.

Am still waiting for my refund checks
Received 2 American Express gift cards. Neither has worked at any place I have tried to use it.
Always declined EMBARRASSING!!! Called Amex Ex they were to refund my card balances. 3 weeks passed, no checks. Called "it was a mistake on their end" Department head will review and get back to me in 2-3 days.
Asked for the manager. Had to make an appt to talk to him. Appt time came and went.
No call back, no checks no answers. WHERE IS MY MONEY?

I bought a gift card from the store and I am trying to spend the money, but every time it gets declined. That's all.

I was charged double the amount of interest for purchase this month.
I feel that's is very unfair to increase my purchase interest after 18 yrs of being a member of this business.
What is the purpose of having the card and pay a annual fee too high.

Serve ignores my email after I provided all the information. Two months now and they tell me the same thing every time I called. Bad customer service and will never use them again
The representatives are like dealing with robots. They tell me the same thing every time I called.
No documentation and cannot help even after I sent all the documents they asked me to send. With such bad service, American Express should just use a recording because sadly they cannot resolve the issue over the phone.

My American Express Business Savings account remains locked, Even though the Representative is Capable of helping me unlock and Gain My funds that are in my name and My posessions. They Refuse to Grant me into my hard earned money.
And offer that I did not memorize the account number.
I don't have a credit card linked to the account and the Credit Card that I used to have was over 10 years old and they said that because the credit card was so old that that was not going to go against actually getting into my business savings account. And So I repeat to them How do I get into my Business Savings and they replied with More obstacles than what an actual American Express Banker usually say's when you get locked out of your Savings account.

How embarrassing to give someone a gift card only for them to call you and say it's been used. I took this card directly out of the envelope it was mailed in.
I removed it from the paper that is was attached to and gave to my friend. I am not sure what the issue is, but this makes me skeptical to keep buying these cards. THESE CARDS WERE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM AE GIFTCARD WEBSITE. Not in the store.
I called to get a refund or replacement and that was a nightmare!
I reported this in November and we are almost in February and I am still getting the runaround. They say they mailed the replacement, but I have not received it. Each time I call they say to wait a few more days or that they are going to escalate the ticket to see if the card has been reissued. I had been a long time customer, buying these giftcards every year.
NEVER AGAIN. I just need them to replace the one that they did not put the correct amount on from the very beginning. Horrible experience!!!
No one I spoke with seemed to think they was a big deal. I asked for a manager, but they would not let me speak to one!

I have had an AMEX company card(s) for over 25 years. Used it for business, international travel...
On a trip through Turkey, I made a purchase that was $17.70 USD, my statement came through as $177.00.
I disputed this of course and the charges were temporarily removed. Within 45 days I was advised they didn't have enough information, I supplied photos etc, however I couldn't provide a receipt because I was not offered one from the merchant. My bad. Long story, AMEX sided with the fraudulent merchant.
I cancelled my Amex account and all cards associated with our company account and will not ever apply for another. I would suggest to anyone who asks me, reconsider when looking at AMEX corporate credit cards

Verified ReviewerInterest charge of $72.22 for being few hours late
After 24 years of paying my bill on the 11th of the month, in full, every month, something went wrong with Jan 2024 bill. I caught it on the morning of 1/13/2024.
I paid it in full and paid the balance for the 2/16 bill too. Just the same you charged me 72.22 interest for the few hours I was late, and I don't know why this happened. I was sure I had paid it on the 11th. Since you will not refund me the 72 I have switched all my auto accounts to Visa.
This is no way to treat a very loyal customer of 24 years. I will not be using the Amx card in the future, but I will keep it for using FFM.

Lost card
I was in Europe and thought I lost my card. I tried to get through on the phone but realized I had my phone turned off due to roaming charges.
I did later find my card so no issues. Thank you for checking Judy.

I would just my money refunded if possible. This was no part of Amex.
